Am I a Candidate for Full Arch Dental Implants?
If your gums are healthy and free of periodontal disease, you may be an excellent candidate for dental implants. All-on-X implants are designed to maximize contact with your existing bone through precise angling and positioning, making them a great solution even with limited bone volume. If additional support is needed, Dr. Jayson Bird can perform bone grafting procedures to create a stable foundation for your implants.
However, certain health factors can impact implant success. Smoking, for example, reduces blood flow, delays healing, and inhibits the integration of dental implants, so we recommend quitting a few months before and after implant surgery. Additionally, conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or immune system disorders can affect healing and increase infection risk; while these do not necessarily disqualify you from receiving implants, managing these conditions is essential to improve outcomes.

jayson bird, DDS
Dr. Bird was born and raised in Shelley, Idaho, and graduated from Shelley High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Idaho in 2008. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Bird attended Creighton University School of Dentistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2013.
Dr. Bird’s commitment to excellence in dentistry has been recognized with the Excellence in Implant Placement award from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He is an active member of several professional organizations. He continues to enhance his expertise by attending dental seminars and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in CEREC crowns, implants, and cosmetic techniques.
